This module is only compatible with the OpenMV N6.
Driver note: We are not completely done with the driver for this module on the N6. VGA (640x480), HD (1280x720), and FHD (1920x1080) are currently operational at 30 FPS with HDR support operational. HD/FHD picture quality is excellent currently. We are still working on getting QWXGA2 (2952x1944) working. We are also working on getting color matrix calibration for the sensor done, still (with the help of Pixart), leveraging the N6's hardware image scaler for supporting more resolutions and removing debayering noise, and building out all AEC/AGC/AWB controls. We expect to have all functionality fully delivered by the end of summer 2026.
The module hardware is perfect, though, and the software will get there soon, too.
The PS5520 is a highly integrated CMOS image sensor that outputs 2592x1944 (5MP) pixels with a rolling shutter readout. It embedded new FinePixel™ and HDR sensor technology to perform excellent image quality and single-shot high dynamic range synthesized image output.
The HDR Camera Module can take high-resolution pictures indoors and outdoors without sunlight blowing out the image. This makes is useful for any application where sunlight may appear in the field of view.
