Hi Folks!
Sorry for not sending out an update last month, September was super busy with multiple conferences and more.
Robocup
First, we're happy to congratulate team Roboticus for winning first place in the Superteam Category during the Robocup Junior 2024 World Championship in Eindhoven.
They brought two teams to the competition and won the award for best documentation too!
It's awesome to see folks using OpenMV IDE in the wild too!
And more!
Yes, that's not all, we sponsored multiple teams this year and are also pleased to announce that Team IKARO particapted in the Soccer Lighweight category and won:
- 1st Place in RomeCup (Rome - March 2024)
- 1st Place in the Robocup Junior National Final (Verbania - April 2024)
- SuperTeam category semifinalist (Eindhoven - July 2024)
They even got on TV!
Sweet!
CAD Complete
On to other things! We've finally finished designing 3D Printable Cases for all OpenMV Cams, shields and accessories - including the Arduino Nicla and Arduino Portenta! Now, no matter which OpenMV Cam you are using with whatever combination of shields you have you can protect your hardware.
But, that's not all, we've added 3D interactive models for everything well sell/support too on the website.
New Sensors Coming Soon!
Next! I'd like to announce we're on track to launch two new sensors for the OpenMV Cam before the end of the year. We're adding support for connecting your OpenMV Cam to the FLIR® Boson® and the Prophesee GenX320 event sensor!
Here's the GenX320 working on the OpenMV Cam H7 Plus:
Anyway, we're very close to producing an initial batch of a small number of the GenX320 Sensors. It's a pretty expensive camera module. But, we think a lot of folks will want to use it for various vision tasks. For the FLIR Boson adapter, we still need to get the driver for this working. But, once it's done and we've verified the adapter hardware we'll get it in stock too! We hope to have both in stock by the end of the year.
And so, that's all folks!
